Why TIG, and When You Need It
TIG (GTAW) gives a clean, controlled, low-distortion weld that other processes cannot match — which is why it is the right process for stainless steel, aluminium, thin wall, and any joint that must be hygienic, leak-tight, or visible. It is slower and needs a more skilled hand, so it is used where the application genuinely calls for it: food and pharma-grade pipework, architectural stainless, precision repairs, and metals that crack or corrode if welded hot or dirty. Welders Ghana TIG-welds these by qualified welders to a documented procedure, with welder qualification to ISO 9606.
TIG Specialty Work We Do
Stainless Steel Pipework, Tanks & Equipment
Stainless pipework, tanks, hoppers, and process equipment — TIG-welded with purged roots so the steel stays corrosion-resistant and the weld can be cleaned in service.
Food, Beverage & Pharma-Grade Hygienic Welding
Hygienic stainless pipework and vessels for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical use — clean, smooth, oxide-free welds, pickled and passivated so they will not harbour contamination.
Aluminium Fabrication & Repair
Aluminium structures, tanks, components, and repairs — TIG-welded with controlled heat input so the metal does not crack or distort.
Thin-Wall, Architectural & Precision Work
Thin-wall stainless and aluminium, small-bore pipe, instrument tubing, architectural stainless, and precision component repairs — welded by hand where heat control decides the result.
What We TIG-Weld
| You need | What we do |
|---|---|
| Stainless pipework / tanks | TIG with purged root, corrosion-resistant and cleanable |
| Food / pharma-grade pipe | Hygienic weld, pickled and passivated |
| Aluminium fabrication / repair | Controlled heat input, no cracking or distortion |
| Thin-wall / precision parts | Hand-welded by qualified TIG welder |
| Architectural stainless | Clean, visible weld finished to the look |
How We TIG-Weld a Job
- Survey & material confirmation — grade, wall thickness, hygienic or leak-tight, priced from survey.
- Joint prep & cleanliness — clean metal, purging or backing gas where needed.
- TIG weld to procedure — right filler and gas, controlled heat, clean root.
- Dress, inspect & finish — pickle or passivate, check the weld, finish to standard.
Welded Right & Properly Finished
- Welder qualification to ISO 9606 and welding quality management to ISO 3834
- Purged roots and proper pickling and passivation on stainless — so the steel stays corrosion-resistant in service
- Structural stainless and aluminium to recognised practice — AWS D1.1 / execution to EN 1090 where the job is structural
- Over 15 years in the trade — a real workshop with qualified TIG welders, workshop and on-site capability
What It Costs — Honestly
TIG is slower and more skilled than MIG or stick, so it is priced on the job — the material, the grade, the wall thickness, the joint count, and whether the weld must be hygienic or leak-tight. We price it on a survey, never down the phone, and use TIG where the application genuinely needs it rather than where a cheaper process would do.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you TIG-weld stainless steel and aluminium? Yes — TIG is our process for both, because it gives a clean, controlled weld that keeps stainless corrosion-resistant and does not crack aluminium. We weld stainless pipework, tanks, balustrades, and food-grade equipment, and aluminium structures and components, by qualified TIG welders.
Can you weld food-grade or pharma-grade stainless pipework? Yes — hygienic pipework needs a clean, oxide-free weld that will not harbour contamination, which means purged roots and proper passivation. We TIG-weld to that standard and finish the weld so it can be cleaned in service.
Can you TIG-weld thin-wall and precision parts? Yes — thin-wall stainless and aluminium, small-bore pipe, instrument tubing, and precision components are where TIG earns its place, because controlled heat does not blow through or distort the part. We weld these by hand, workshop or on site.
How much does TIG welding cost? TIG is slower and more skilled, so it is priced on the job — material, grade, wall thickness, joint count, and whether it must be hygienic or leak-tight. We price it on a survey and use TIG where the application genuinely needs it.
