Why Power & Energy in Ghana Specifies Welders Ghana
A power plant is steel under continuous load — boiler pipe under pressure and temperature, structural steel carrying turbines and equipment, supports and stacks standing against thermal and dynamic stress. In this sector a weld failure is not an inconvenience; it is an outage, a safety event, or both. Generators, EPC contractors, and plant operators across Ghana specify welders who weld plant pipe and structural steel to code, qualify to a recognised standard, and back the work with inspection and records.
Welders Ghana has welded plant steel and pipework for over 15 years. We weld from the drawing and the procedure, qualify our welders to the process and material, and hand over the inspection trail a plant engineer needs to accept the work — whether it is a structural support carrying equipment or a pressure-bearing pipe in the steam circuit.
What Power & Energy Welding Demands
Plant Structural Integrity
Turbine pedestals, equipment supports, pipe racks, walkways, and stacks carry heavy, sometimes cyclic loads. Structural welds are made by welders qualified to ISO 9606 to AWS D1.1 and EN 1090 execution — full-strength connections that hold under the dynamic and thermal loads a power plant imposes, not just at handover but across the plant’s service life.
Pipe & Pressure-Boundary Integrity
Boiler, steam, and process pipe is a pressure boundary. Welds are root-and-fill welded to a qualified procedure — TIG root for full-penetration joints where the service demands — by qualified welders, so the line holds pressure and temperature across the plant’s operating cycles.
NDT, Inspection & Verification
Plant and pressure welds are verified by non-destructive testing — visual, dye-penetrant, radiography, or ultrasonic as the procedure calls for — and the records are supplied so the work can be accepted and, where required, pressure-tested. We test to the standard the plant is built to, with traceability from procedure to joint.
Our Power & Energy Welding Scope
- Structural Steel Welding — turbine supports, equipment frames, pipe racks, and plant structural steel to AWS D1.1 and EN 1090
- Oil & Gas Pipe Welding — boiler, steam, and process pipe welded root-and-fill to a qualified procedure
- Certified Welding Inspection — NDT and inspection records for plant and pressure-weld integrity
- On-Site Welding — mobile welding plant brought to the station for outage work, alterations, and urgent repairs

Standards & Compliance
- Welder qualification to ISO 9606 — qualified to the process, position, and material the plant work demands
- Welding-quality management to ISO 3834 — qualified procedures, consumable control, and weld records
- Structural welding to AWS D1.1, steel execution to EN 1090 (parts 1 and 2) on plant structures and supports
- Non-destructive testing — visual, dye-penetrant, radiography, and ultrasonic on structural and pressure welds, with inspection records supplied
- Over 15 years in the trade — a workshop with qualified welders and a documented welding method, not a roadside operation
On-Site & Rapid Response
In power generation, an outage has a price measured by the hour. A cracked support, a failed pipe weld, or a structural failure during an outage window cannot wait for a workshop slot. Welders Ghana runs a same-day on-site response line — mobile welding plant brought to the station, the failure assessed against the drawing and the procedure, and the repair welded and verified where the plant’s permit-to-work allows. A fast, competent, documented response is what keeps an outage on schedule and a plant on the grid.
Power & Energy Across Ghana
We weld for power, energy, and plant clients across Accra and Greater Accra, the Tema generation and industrial cluster, the Takoradi thermal corridor, and through Obuasi and Kumasi. Send the drawings or describe the plant and we will arrange a site survey and price the work — never a flat figure down the phone.
